Kaitlyn Howlett

Leadership Team

Originally from Weston – S – Mare, North Somerset, Kaitlyn is now a Plymouth, Devon, based Dance and Taiko Artist and Producer.

Kaitlyn Graduated from The University of Plymouth (2017) with a First Class Honors Degree in Dance Theatre. Over this time Kaitlyn studied extensively in contemporary dance across a variety of techniques including, Contact Improvisation, Cunningham, Release Technique and Flying Low.

Since then Kaitlyn has strengthened and developed her practice, now specialising in teaching adolescent young people, holding a youth work qualification and leading practice grounded in inclusivity, trauma informed, Mental health awareness and bystander approaches.

Kaitlyn’s work has taken her internationally to Florence – Italy for the ‘Marked’ tour, Dubai – UAE to play taiko for Toyota and Seoul – South Korea for the ‘Birth of Memory’ performance at KIADA. As well as this Kaitlyn has produced on both local and national projects including the International Summer Intensive, Tea Dances with a Twist! and Plymouth Respect Festival (2017 – current) with Plymouth Dance.

Further projects include Traverse Youth Dance Platform (2017 – 2023), the With Flying Colours Project and currently the Belong in Plymouth Programme with Connecting Youth. Further to this Kaitlyn has worked with a wide variety of cultural partners and organisations as an artist and practitioner, including: Made By Katie Green – Imagination Museum, Mayflower 400 project as a Dance Engagement Practitioner, Big Sis CIC, Far Flung, Ivybridge Community School and The University of Plymouth.

Alongside this Kaitlyn is one of 3 co-founders of Elements Plymouth Taiko and Movement, she is the Company Manager for Richard Chappell Dance and manages the Oxford House Creative Hub building for Rhythm City Dance Studios.
