Plymouth Dance works with Primary Educational Settings across Plymouth, providing regular in-curriculum and afterschool dance sessions and workshops. Providing bespoke dance programs for Primary Schools in Plymouth and Cornwall, our experienced practitioners work closely with educators to design sessions that meet the needs of each group, ensuring that every young person can participate fully and thrive.

• In-Curriculum Sessions: Integrating dance into the school day, these classes focus on social interaction, creativity and fun. We aim to enhance physical and emotional well-being for participants while supporting student’s individual school and personal targets.
• Afterschool Clubs: Our afterschool sessions offer a relaxed and enjoyable setting for children to further explore dance. These clubs emphasise fun and creativity, allowing participants to develop friendships and build confidence in a supportive environment.

Recently been involved in Project MUFFIN, which is a partnership project between Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and University of Edinburgh’s BSL Glossary Project, with the aim to make marine science more accessible to deaf communities. It includes sharing new BSL and educational video’s for marine animals, and also hosting a Deaf Marine Day on June 8th 2026. Plymouth Dance with a group of young people from the Deaf Education Centre at Eggbuckland Vale Primary School created a dance piece called ‘The Lost Ray’, and performed it at the Marine Station in Plymouth. This dance piece included 16 brand new BSL signs of marine life that are local to Plymouth. A big thank you to the National Deaf Children’s Society for their Community Grant.
